Corporal Gordon Tucker worked as an air mechanic and rigger at RFC Beaulieu during 1916, RFC Hounslow during 1917 and RFC Wye in Kent  during 1918-19. He kept meticulous daily diaries, wrote many letters and wrote his own Rigging Manual for the WW1 aircraft. His diaries and letters are probably the most complete record found to date, of day to day life at a WW1 airfield. See his memoirs at:
